What are the printing processes of self-adhesive labels

Today, let's simply popularize the basic technology of self-adhesive label production and production

(1). Offset printing (lithographic printing) offset printing has outstanding advantages in fine dot printing, mainly due to the fact that the plate of lithographic printing is alloy material, which is not easy to deform in the process of printing and production. The disadvantage is that the line, field printing effect and printing saturation are not comparable to other printing methods. At present, the printing equipment of PS self-adhesive label is becoming more and more mature, which can carry out die-cutting, cold ironing and polishing online. Therefore, after printing, due to the relatively large format of lithography, it is easy to make up production and lower plate cost. Offset printing is superior to other printing methods in the printing quality of small dots. It is inferior to other printing methods in line, actual printing effect and color saturation. Offset printing is more difficult to control color difference than other printing methods.

(2). Gravure label printing field printing and printing color saturation are better than offset printing, which is not suitable for printing trademarks with small dots and rich layers. But the color difference control is more convenient. In gravure press, the paper path of label material in mold is longer than that of other printing methods, so there is a greater chance of static electricity. Gravure plate making has high cost and long cycle, so it is suitable for in mold label printing of long plate. Gravure printing is superior to offset printing in the field printing effect and color saturation, inferior to other printing methods in the printing quality of small dots and the richness of image levels, and superior to offset printing and relief printing in the control of color difference. Because the paper path of gravure printing is longer than other printing methods, it is easier to generate static electricity than other printing methods. Gravure printing takes a long time and costs a lot. Therefore, it is not suitable to use gravure printing in the label printing business of medium and short plates.

(3). Embossing letterpress printing includes ordinary trademark printing, rotary printing and flexographic printing. Embossing is suitable for printing field and line trademarks. The effect of printing small dots is not ideal. It is also easy to control the color difference of the same batch of products, but ink bars will appear. From a cost point of view, it is cheaper than gravure printing and flexo printing. The quality of letterpress printing in printing small dots is worse than that of other printing methods. The printing resistance of self-adhesive label paper printing plate is lower than that of gravure and flexo. It is easier to control the printing color difference than offset printing, but the effect is not as good as gravure printing and flexo printing. In addition, it is easy to have ink bars, and the plate making cost and cycle are lower than that of gravure printing and flexo printing. Here, flexographic printing is put forward separately. The outstanding advantage of flexographic printing is that the printing and post-processing process can be completed at one go. The front end is the feed end, and the rear end obtains the final printing and processing finished products, realizing the connection production of printing and post-processing. Now, with the improvement of flexographic plate making technology, the dot printing quality has made great progress. Flexographic printing of in mold labels has been recognized by some manufacturers, but printing with environmental friendly water-based ink is not mature. At present, experienced manufacturers use UV ink with good fluidity, which has become the trend of in mold label printing. Flexographic printing is the mainstream packaging printing method in Europe and America. Combined with CDI plate making technology, flexographic printing can obtain better dot printing quality and saturated printing color.

(5). Silk screen printing is different from all the previous printing methods. The pattern of silk screen printing is actually composed of dots, but it is the worst in terms of printing outlets. This is mainly due to the characteristics of screen printing and the printing method. The printing process of self-adhesive labels is very widely used in practice, According to the different requirements of customers, different printing needs to be combined. For example, transfer labels need silk screen printing + lithographic printing, solid background printing, digital printing + screen printing, embossing effect needs screen printing + relief printing or lithographic printing
